![]() | Ruben Ellinghaus (Hagen) My research interests are concerned with basic operations of the human mind such as comparative judgment and response selection. In this context, I am especially interested in quantitative methods such as computational modeling, psychophysical measurement and mental chronometry. At the same time, I believe that a dialogue between psychology and philosophy is necessary in order to understand how research based on these methods can contribute to the development of proper psychological theories. ruben.ellinghaus[*at*]fernuni-hagen.de https://www.fernuni-hagen.de/psychologie-urteilen-entscheiden/team/ruben.ellinghaus.shtml |
Fabian Hutmacher (Würzburg) My research is focused on individual and collective processes of remembering and identity construction (in the digital age) as well as motivated reasoning. I also hold a strong interest in the theory and history of psychology. In my opinion, both psychology and philosophy help us to understand ourselves, our societies, and our place in the world. fabian.hutmacher[*at*]uni-wuerzburg.de https://www.mcm.uni-wuerzburg.de/kp/personen/dr-fabian-hutmacher/
![]() | Lucas Immanuel Janz (Berlin) My research interests center around conceptual questions concerning the relation between self and world, which I approach through the lenses of analytic philosophy and phenomenology. The relation between philosophy and psychology must, I believe, be clarified in order to be able to recognize and dispel conceptual confusions which may otherwise impede either field of inquiry. lucas.immanuel.janz[*at*]student.hu-berlin.de Lucas JANZ | Masters Student | Bachelor of Arts | Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Berlin | HU Berlin | Berlin School of Mind and Brain | Research profile (researchgate.net) |
Timo Munz (Wien/Freiburg/Graz) My fascination for descriptive thinking led me to philosophy. For me, phenomenology is a lighthouse on a sea of incoherent empirical findings in psychology. Engaging with the history of science, phenomenology and various empirical approaches, I seek inspiration for a new orientation in psychology.
![]() © Anton Oettinger | Josh Joseph Ramminger (Berlin) My research interests concern theoretical psychology (theory of science & methodology), as well as public health, and more recently, behavioural public policy. I believe that philosophy and psychology can help us to (a) illuminate the various ways in which we do not think straight, and (b) establish conditions to be less wrong. josh.ramminger[*at*]student.huberlin. de http://www.linkedin.com/in/joshramminger |
Stefan Radev (New York) My research follows two streams. The first focuses on developing new statistical methods through the emerging generation of generative neural networks. The second focuses on building and applying computational models of complex processes (e.g., cognition, disease outbreaks) to gain insights from data (and „Big Data“, whenever available). These two streams converge at the BayesFlowframework for simulation-based inference with modern deep learning, of which I am the core developer and maintainer. radevs[*at*]rpi.edu https://faculty.rpi.edu/stefan-radev

In my point of view, there exists an inner unity between philosophy and psychology and, hence, one cannot do one without the other. „Based on Aristotle’s proposition that ‚the soul is, as it were, everything,‘ I began, with a good conscience, to concern myself with everything that can be known under the name of psychology.“‚ (Karl Jaspers) hwendler[*at*]uni-koeln.de https://linktree/hanneswendler |
![]() © SFU / Bea-Regina Schulz | Alexander Nicolai Wendt (Wien/Heidelberg/Verona) My research interests are cognitive psychology, theoretical psychology, and phenomenology. I am dedicated to philosophy because I feel an urge to marvel about everything and I am curious about psychology because mental life is the topic which has caught my attention the strongest. alexander.wendt[*at*]mail.sfu.ac.at https://www.sfu.ac.at/en/person/wendt-alexander-nicolai/i/ |
